Young wrestlers get a lot of mat time during practices and league meets. However, opportunities exist for wrestlers to get additional mat time at local tournaments. These tournaments require separate registration fees and award the top wrestlers (usually top 4) in each weight class with trophies, medals, or belts. Tournaments provide ample opportunity to grow and learn the sport. Avonworth/Northgate Wrestling encourages wrestlers to attend local tournaments.
